Banks

The Royal Bank of Scotland provides a mobile bank service that visits the village of Aberfoyle. 


Buses

The C61 bus provides a service 4 times a day Monday to Friday, going to and from Callander, Thornhill, Aberfoyle and Kinlochard. This started in May 2026 and is a 2 year pilot scheme run by Stirling Council. The Aberfoyle to Kinlochard/Kinlochard to Aberfoyle part of the route needs to be booked by 3pm on the day before travel, or on Friday if you plan to travel on Monday. People who hold a National Entitlement Card (NEC) can travel free of charge.

Flooding

Although Kinlochard itself is not usually subject to flooding, the road B829 from Aberfoyle does occasionally become unusable due to floods and standing water.

Stirling Council also provides general flooding information as well as live river gauge data which can provide a more useful indication of possible disruption. The gauges named Duchray Water,Loch Ard, Aberfoyle and Aberfoyle Primary and are of most interest.

There is a Facebook page called Flood update Aberfoyle which usually posts up information about flooding in and around Aberfoyle in real/current time., It is useful if you have a question about a particular route or road.


Library

There is a mobile library service that visits the village on alternate Thursday afternoons from 2.45pm.


Phone and Mobile Coverage

In general, mobile coverage is very poor after you leave Aberfoyle. There is some 4G coverage around the entrance to Kinlochard, the cottages and occasional ‘hotspots’ along the forest tracks provided by the Vodafone and EE networks. The red phone box at the T-junction has a useable 24/7 public phone, it takes cash only.
